The University of Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh (abbreviated as Edin. in post-nominals), founded in 1582,[1] is the sixth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland's ancient universities. The university has five main campuses in the city of Edinburgh, with many of the buildings in the historic Old Town belonging to the university.[5] The university played an important role in leading Edinburgh to its reputation as a chief intellectual centre during the Age of Enlightenment, and helped give the city the nickname of the Athens of the North

University of Edinburgh is also member of the SCCS:
Scottish Carbon Capture & Storage (SCCS) is the largest CCUS research grouping in the UK. SCCS membership includes over 250 academics from six research institutes (the British Geological Survey, the University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University, the University of Aberdeen, the University of Strathclyde and the University of St Andrews) engaged in innovative research and development across the full chain, with state-of-the-art facilities for research in capture, transport and storage. SCCS is the national consortium for CCS in Scotland.

The SCCS Secretariat consists of a team of professionals whose expertise includes project management, business development and commercialisation, knowledge exchange and communication, techno-economic research, policy analysis and public engagement. Our experience includes the delivery of Joint Industry Programmes such as CO2Multistore and the CO2-EOR JIP and we have a strong track record in designing, building and maintaining websites, organising prestigious CCUS events (such as our annual conference, and a series of CCUS technology knowledge exchange workshops), designing and printing project reports, placing news stories in the media and using social media routes for effective and impactful dissemination. The SCCS team is currently a partner in ERA-NET ACT projects Acorn and ALIGN CCUS, and H2020s project SECURe, STRATEGY and the EU CCUS Project Network.
